About Me
Red Broadwell (he/they) writes about film and television with a focus on horror and science-fiction media. He is currently pursuing an M.A. in Film Studies at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. He graduated with a B.A. in history and a double minor in English and sociology from the University of Florida in December 2022.
They currently have bylines on Certified Forgotten and Dread Central and have covered Salem Horror Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and Fantastic Fest. Red is currently the content writer for the blog of Queer Fear Film Festival in Winston-Salem NC. He is also a regular contributor to YouTube channels Plot Armor and Out of Animation.
As a queer, transmasculine person he aims to highlight underrepresented voices in media. Their work engages with themes of gender identity, portrayals of marginalized groups, bodily transformation, and queer relationships.
