I've worked as a freelance film critic since September 2020, midway through my time pursuing a B.A. in history with a minor in English literature at the University of Florida. Since then I've been a regular contributor at various independent film criticism websites. I've also had the opportunity to attend several film festivals like Sundance in 2021, Fantastic Fest in 2023, and Fantasia Festival in 2025. Academically, I finished my M.A. in film studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in May of 2025; I presented my research on gender and digital spaces on film at NYU's Holding the Gaze conference in 2024 and JAMS @ Anime Expo in 2025.

Apart from film, I also write about my interests in anime, video games, and fandom studies on "Digital Backlog": my Substack. I currently work as an English teacher for teens and adults in Hong Kong.
